Our History
Project Restart was established in 2001 by the Josephine County Mac User Group (JoMacs). Near the start of the 2004-2005 school year we discovered that the Southern Oregon Head Start program was in need of 60 computers for their families. The program was presented to the community through the Grants Pass Chamber of Commerce, and support was overwhelming. By March of 2005 Project Restart had grown large enough to become it's own entity. In June 2006 we received our 501c-3 status.
Our Mission
To provide older, but still usable computers to qualified families who otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity.
Service to the Community
We currently work with four different family/individual oriented organizations.
We provide recycled computers to them, and they in turn place the computers in the homes of individuals and families who they have pre-qualified. And, as our capabilities grow, we will be expanding to other organizations.
